A very nice short hike takes you from the village Visni to the Cave Church of St Spas, The Holy Savior. Vishni is a mountain village a bit north-west of Struga.
There are several signs in Vishni pointing to the Cave Church of St Spas (Pesterna Crkva Sv Spas), and the church is not hard to find. Just walk north through the valley, along a brook and through forest. There are several wooden bridges over the brook, which was dry when we visited.
After 3 km you will reach the stairs that go up to St Spas, which is in a cave in the rocks high above the trees. The opening of the cave has been closed with a stone wall and a door.
The views from the church are amazing, you can even see Lake Ohrid from here!
Inside there are some very damaged frescoes from the second half of the 14th century.
