Ohrid and surroundings

The east side of Lake Ohrid: Ohrid, Leskoec, Velgosti, Ramne, Velestovo, Gorno and Dolno Konjsko, Peshtani, Trpejca, Gorno Lakocherej, Dolno Lakocherej, Skrebatno, Kosel, Rechica, Kuratica and Zavoj.

The west side of Lake Ohrid: Struga, Kalista, Radozda, Oktisi, Vevchani, Vishni and Gorna Belica. The villages Draslajca, Bidzhevo and Lozhani north of Struga.
Skopje and surroundings

Skopje, the capital of Macedonia and the artificial Lake Matka. The settlement Radisani and the village Kuchevishte.
North-West Macedonia

When you travel by car from Skopje to Ohrid, you can take the direct road via Kicevo, or a more scenic route through Mavrovo National Park via Debar. Here are some suggestions for stops along both routes:
Along the direct road from Skopje to Ohrid via Kicevo: Tetovo, Popova Shapka, Leshok, Gostivar, Tajmiste, Kicevo, Vrbjani, Godivje, Leshani, Velmej, Meseista, Volino and Orovnik.
Along the more scenic road from Skopje to Ohrid via Debar through Mavrovo National Park: Galicnik, Rostusa, Velebrdo, Jance, Gari, Lazaropole, Tresonce and Debar.
Around Lake Prespa

The west side of Lake Prespa: Stenje, Konjsko and the uninhabited island Golem Grad (a.k.a. Snake Island).
The east side of Lake Prespa: Podmocani, Kurbinovo, Slivnica, Nakolec, Ljubojno and Brajcino.
South-west Macedonia

South-west Macedonia: Prilep, Krushevo, Smilevo, Slepche, Sloestica, Resen, Bitola, Maloviste, Capari, Rotino, Zovich, Gradesnica and Staravina.
North-east Macedonia

Near Ohrid: Tsar Samoil’s Fortress, Gradiste Fortress and Erasmo‑Kulishta Fortress ruins near Ohrid and the ruins of Shurlenci Fortress near Oteshevo at Lake Prespa.

Waterfalls in Macedonia

Shar National Park: The 8 Kamenjane waterfalls near Kamenjane, Leshnica waterfall near Bozovce and Belovishte waterfall near Belovishte.
Mavrovo National Park: Duf waterfall near Rostushe, Korab waterfall near Ribnica and a small waterfall in Gari. The Biljana waterfall near Tresonche.
Near Skopje: Very small waterfall near Kuckovo and the small waterfall trail near Ljubanci. Small waterfall near Kuchevishte. These waterfalls may be a bit underwhelming!
Near Strumica: Smolare waterfall, Gabrovo waterfalls and Kolechino waterfalls.
Near Pehchevo: Spikovski waterfall and Crnodolski waterfall, as well as some smaller waterfalls along the trail to the Chengino Kale Peak.
Other: Gresnica waterfall near Gresnica, Heraclea waterfall near Bitola.
