Vrbjani is a small village situated on the road from Ohrid to Kicevo.

The Church of St George (Sv Gjorgi) in Vrbjani was built in 1605 and represents a typical example of church architecture from the Ottoman period. Despite its modest size the church draws attention by its inner decoration and the iconostasis.

The frescoes are in the tradition of the 15th century Ohrid painting school. The colors have suffered from a fire during the Ilinden uprising in 1903. The saints and scenes are depicted in such an expressive way that it makes the frescoes an above average achievement of the period.

You could combine a visit to Vrbjani with a visit to the village Velmej and the All Saints Monastery in Leshani. These villages are also located between Ohrid and Kicevo.
In addition, you can find a small Ethnological Museum and the 14th century Church of St George in the nearby village Godivje.
