Kalista

Kalista is a small settlement and monastery complex on the northwest shore of Lake Ohrid. It is located about 5 km from Struga on the road to Radozda.

Monastery of St Bogorodica

Within the St Bogorodica Monastery of Kalista you will find the interesting cave church of Sveti Bogorodica (Holy Mother of God). The monastery is build around the cave church, and the cave church could easily be missed if not looking for it.

To enter the cave church, you have to enter the monastery. Steep stairs bring you to the little cave church, with frescoes dating back to the 15th century. If the church is closed, the people from hotel Biser might be able to open it for you.

Cave Church of St Atanas

The Cave Church St Atanas is not far from the Monastery Complex St Bogorodica (in Kalista), a bit further down the shore of Lake Ohrid. St Atanas is build into the cliffs of Lake Ohrid. If the cave church is closed, the people from Hotel Biser might have the key for you.
