This hike from the mountain village Vejce (Vejtse) to the Dojranski vodopad (waterfall) is 10 km long with about 700 m ascent.
The name of the waterfall may be a bit surprising, because most people know Lake Dojran in the south-east of Macedonia, but not the Dojran river in Shar National Park that feeds the waterfall. The waterfall is also referred to as Vejachka waterfall.
The steep and narrow road to Vejce is asphalted. Just before the village Selce (Seltse), make sure to keep right and take the road that passes the Selce Fortress. If you accidentally take the left road like we did, you end up in the village itself with very narrow and steep streets!
We parked just after the bridge in the village Vejce.
The Dojranski Waterfall is quite high, allegedly about 11 meters, and in June there was a lot of water coming down. The waterfall is a real well hidden gem in Shar Mountain National Park, because I had not heard about it before until I found this hike on Wikiloc.
Also the rest of this walk was a very pleasant surprise. I had no high expectations of this short and relatively easy hike, but especially the second half after the waterfall had really good views.
We passed some domesticated horses and the Kobilica Mountain hut.
Part of the trail back to Vejce is part of the High Scardus Trail. And this trail is also going all the way up to the Kobilica Peak, in case you want to hike a bit more.
This charming hike gets 5 out of 5 stars.

We combined this hike with a short visit to the Selce Fortress (newly built as a monument) and the Tetovo Kale/Fortress. Unfortunately the Tetovo Fortress was in a terrible state, these ancient buildings and cultural heritage are used as shelter for cattle and full of manure. What a shame!
